What training do UKFRRT members need?

We would like radiographers on the register to have some post graduate training in forensic radiography, such as a PGCert module course at the University of

Central England or City University in London.

Alternatively, radiographers need to have a range of experience gained by doing forensic radiography in their hospital setting.

In addition to experience and/or postgraduate education, you will need to have successfully completed one of our two-day training courses. These provide the theoretical and practical knowledge that you will need in order to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in an incident mortuary.

We run these courses regularly in different parts of the country. Details of future courses can be found in the Personal Development section of this site.

One of the most frequently used methods of forensic human identification in Mass Fatality Incidents is forensic dentistry which relies heavily on dental radiography.

AFR runs regular courses in dental radiography and further details can be found in the Personal Development section of the website.
