AGM Adopts New ConstitutionSeptember 23, 2007 The 2007 Annual General Meeting of the Assocation was held on Saturday 22nd September at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. The meeting, which was timed to co-incide with one of the UKFRRT training days was well attended by members and has agreed changes which pave the way for AFR branches to be set up outside the UK. The meeting agreed the adoption of a new constitution for AFR(UK), which allows for AFR branches to be set up in countries outside the UK. The meeting also agreed the creation of an International Committee of AFR to co-ordinate international activities. This committee will have representatives from all AFR branches together with invited observers from the ISRRT and other relevent bodies. It is anticipated that the first meeting of this committee will be held in April 2008 in Durban, South Africa to co-incide with the ISRRT World Congress. Members present at the AGM also received reports on AFR activities over the past year, which have included representation at national and international conferences, work with the Society and College of Radiographers to revise the Guidelines for Forensic Imaging and progress towards registration of radiographers as forensic practitioners in the UK. Members can access a copy of the draft minutes and all related paperwork by accessing the AGM page from within the members section of the website. |
