NIB Guidelines for Mass Disaster Imaging
By Admin
January 3, 2012
NIB Guidelines for Mass Disaster Imaging.
IAFR are pleased to see that the National Imaging Board has produced and distributed guideline CT imaging protocols for the examination of victims of Mass Disasters. There are two separate protocols, one for dealing with significant numbers of survivors that should be used to help organisations plan for major Incidents, the second for imaging the deceased as part of Victim Identification.
IAFR is working with NIB to align these guidelines with the UKFRRT imaging protocols. UKFRRT and CBRN team members will be advised accordingly and deployment training adapted if required.
Hospital based Forensic Lead Radiographers are advised to liaise with their Clinical Leads, CT departments and Major Incident Planners to ensure these guidelines are including in MI planning if appropriate.
