Information for Emergency Planners

The Association of Forensic Radiographers is able to offer advice to colleagues involved in planning for the use of medical imaging equipment for forensic investigation in both temporary and permanent settings. You can download a copy of our guidance document here.

Please note that this guidance is currently being updated following the introduction of the UK National Emergency Mortuary Arrangements (NEMA). Revised guidance will be available on the website shortly. For more information please contact info@afr.org.uk

The UK Forensic Radiography Response Team (UKFRRT) can provide a team of trained forensic radiographers to respond to mass fatality incidents. A video of the work of the UKFRRT team can be viewed here. UKFRRT coordinators are based in each government region in England and are available to offer advice for planning resilience mortuaries. Coordinators are also available in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. For more information please contact UKFRRT@afr.org.uk
