Forensic radiography and AFR
What is forensic radiography?
Forensic radiography is the application of the science of diagnostic imaging to questions of law.
What is the Association of Forensic Radiographers?
AFR is an association of professionals involved in, or with an interest in, the provision of medical imaging in support of forensic investigations.
We aim to promote best practice in forensic radiography through education and training, practical exercises, research, communication and the coordination of forensic radiography projects, both within the UK and internationally.
Who can join the AFR?
Full membership of the Association will be open to any registered Radiographer, Radiologic Technologist, Imaging Technician, Assistant Radiographic Practitioner or Radiologist with an interest in forensic medical imaging.
Associate membership of the Association will be open to anyone with a professional interest in medical imaging. We have associate members who are pathologists, anthropologists, odontologists, crime scene examiners and investigators.
We aim to be an international organisation and currently have members in the UK, Repulic of Ireland, Netherlands, USA, Canada, South Africa, Iraq, Australia and Argentina.
